1.1 This AIRAC AIP Supplement is issued to promulgate information concerning taxiway shoulder upgrading works at Taxiway J and the construction of a new VVIP apron, including the development of VVIP facilities comprising a hangar and annex building, at Senai International Airport (WMKJ).
1.2 The construction activities will be carried out in phases within the airside area and are expected to be completed within the approved project timeline. Temporary operational impacts may occur during the construction period.
1.3 The purpose of this AIRAC AIP SUP is to inform aircraft operators and airspace users of the scope of works, affected areas, phasing, and operational considerations associated with the construction activities at WMKJ.
2.1 The scope of works for the above activities includes the following (refer to Appendix 1 – Overall Layout and Appendix 2 – Scope of Works Layout, where applicable):
Construction of taxiway shoulders at Taxiway J, providing a final shoulder width of 7.5 m on each side upon completion.
Construction of VVIP hangar and annex building.
Construction of a new VVIP apron adjacent to the existing VVIP apron.
Pavement works, earthworks, marking, AGL (Taxiway edge light) and associated drainage works.
Other ancillary works are associated with the development.
3.1 The works programme is divided into two (2) main phases. Construction activities will initially be carried out within the airside area and subsequently transition to a temporary landside area upon completion of the temporary service road.
3.2 Construction works outside critical movement areas will generally be carried out during normal aerodrome operating hours, while works that may affect aircraft movement areas will be conducted in accordance with approved operational windows and taxiway availability.
3.3 Any temporary closure or restriction of taxiways, aprons, or aircraft movement areas arising from the works will be promulgated by NOTAM.
4.1 Pilots are advised to exercise caution due to the presence of construction equipment, personnel, temporary markings, and work-in-progress areas within the aerodrome environment during the period of this Supplement.
4.2 All aircraft operators shall comply with ATC instructions, published procedures, and NOTAM information during the construction period.
